I love the choppiness of the drum loop

However, the distortion on the piano or guitar, whatever it is gets a little too wet on the resonance.

and I -love- the vocal sample, hilarious and fitting. :)

Splatzone responds:

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I love the way it all begins

Seems to open like a flower on the ocean but once you added the gated pad it gets cheesy, was really enjoying how it was unfolding until that.

Find something to use besides that and this would be a really great tune. :)

billyx responds:

Thanks for you input, I really love doing intros, If you listen to my other songs you get the feel of how i originate my intro to end

Takes a while to drop but

I like the way it starts to sound around 1:30 in. Sounds like old early 2000s chicane. And I looooooved Chicane back in the day. You should give him a listen if you're not already familiar. :)

hanorotu responds:

I will definitely give him a listen!
I listened and I liked!

Video game music, it is :)

It seems a little high on the resonance, my ears feel like they're bleeding a little.

No need to have everything so loud, samples/synths will stand out better if they're all at different dB/volume levels.

I like the way it picks up at the end. Almost sounds like one of my old tunes. :)

cybervegeto22 responds:

Yah I figured it would be too quiet so I enhanced the volume, but apparently a little too much.
Thanks for the great review, I'll be experimenting with the volume leveling and whatnot tomorrow.

Offtime

It's hard to match long samples like that to a beat, I know from experience. But yeah, it's fairly off beat until about 1 minute in then it seems to align better. I like it though :)

Aeris responds:

yea, unfortunately for this piece, the original was sung live by The Supremes, so the singer didn't sing along side a steady tempo, but her own inner tempo, which isn't as constant as much as emotional.

I could create a clip changing the tempo, but that would ruin the trance like sound i was aimed for.

So i was kinda stuck with this, ah well. Gain some lose some, right? ^^

Great spy/undercover music

Sounds like something right out of a spy game. Really nice, mellow yet intriguing tune. :)

stevenfostermusic responds:

haha :D i think i'm going to upload the high quality of this once i have finished. thank you for review!

Starts off kinda meh...

kinda sloppy jammish...

but at 1 minute-ish in it definitely gets an industrial feel to it but then loses it with the solo (leave the loop from before playing underneath the solo maybe?).

ends more like a jam than a song which is why you're probably having trouble identifying the style.

I think if you work on the middle section and expand on that style you could do something pretty incredible. :)

yayman223 responds:

thnx 4 ur review :)

i kind of get what ur leading on with it being jamish, i was lazy with the ending on this one, i do like my begining though so im gonna stick with that, i do like ur idea on leaving that loop underlying as a rhythm guitar though so i might try that when i revisit this song.

Thnx 4 ur helpful review :)

Miami, here I come!

Breaks with a psy influence, f'in loved this man! :)

Don't like the way you bring the snare roll in at 0:40ish but it ends well.

Freakin' sexy breakdown. Everything about this is fun and dancey. Very nice job!

Love the SID synths, can definitely sense your game-influence.

Too bad you couldn't think of how to end it cause hot damn! Way to go, bro! :D

g-r4ve responds:

hey thanks man... yea i dont like that snare roll either, ah well

hmm...

who's singing here? you or the computer?

waaaaaay too much vox/pitch-bending

would've been much better without so much of it.

mseemercury responds:

bro its modern hip hop sorry but auto tunes is used for alot of hip hop and rnb artist now of days. sorry but this aint techno

I like!

is that first drum loop laid out by yourself cause it's very fun! :) not a big fan of the rhythm when it comes in heavier at 0:41 though. Nice job otherwise. :)

619lover responds:

yea i made all the loops =) thx for the review
